Social Bookmarking Tips: How To Get Your Readers To Bookmark Your Website?

Previously I shared why a website or blog need to leverage on social bookmark to drive traffic. But how do you get your readers to bookmark your web page. Now I am going to share how it’s done.

Ask Readers To Bookmark

It is quite simple, all you need to do is to ask your readers to help you. At the end of the web page or blog post, ask your readers to bookmark it on the social bookmarking sites, it can be 1 or 2 sites only. But as long as they did bookmark your web page on the social bookmarking sites, your web page has a vote and have a chance to be feature on the social bookmarking sites. It will basically mean having more traffic to your website.

Here is how you should write to ask your readers to bookmark for you:

“That will be all for today, if you find this post has being useful to you please share with others by bookmarking to the social bookmarking sites you prefer. Use the button below to help you in bookmarking. If you do not have set up social bookmarking account, do comment below or forward this to your friends “

This may sound like you are desperate, but it is okay when you “if” in the request. Because the readers do not have to do it, but it’s only out of gratiude to share with others. There is another more casual way that will help you, and it will not sound like you are desperate as well:

“Share with me your insight on the topic I just shared, I will be listening to you. By the way, share with others on what I shared, use the social bookmarking button below.”

Teach and Train Readers To Bookmark

There is a great saying that if you want others to be as successful as you, teach and train them to be like you. Well this saying is from me. (hahahaha) It is very true that if you want your students to as successful as the master, the master has to teach and train the students.

Organize Bookmarking Session

Basically you organize a bookmarking session with some of your friends (twenty the most), to do social bookmarking on each other’s site. This is a gray hat Internet marketing strategy, it is still okay if you do not do this often (once every 2 weeks is fine).

The rule is that each and everyone of your friends will commit to social bookmark every one’s web page, where everyone will get the same number of votes from the social bookmarking.

Please do note that in this session, your content has to be very special and original, so that when others from the social bookmarking sites read on your content, will agree and sometimes vote for you too. If you do not provide good quality and original content, they may report it to the social bookmarking sites about your website.
