Make Your Squeeze Page Presentable

Today is day 6 of “Learn Build Squeeze Page: Beginner’s Guide to Online Success“, we will be doing some make over to your squeeze page to make it look presentable. Do note that we will not be turning your website into a professional looking website, but a website that everyone can create.

We will start on the tour by opening your squeeze page file on Kompozer. Next you can see that your squeeze page is all ready in the content, except the look is not presentable yet. I will share how to change the background color.

Go to ‘Format’ on the top left and click ‘Page Color and Background…’, you will be brought to ‘Page Colors and Background’. See picture below.

In order to choose the background color of your squeeze page, check ‘Use custom colors:’, and choose the color you want for the background. After choosing the color, click ‘OK’. Now you have a color background for your squeeze page, we will do likewise for the tables too. We will start with the bigger table first.

As there are two tables in the squeeze page, you need to make sure you choose which table to color by click in the table space, next click on ‘Format’ on the top left and click ‘Table cell properties’. You will have open a ‘Table properties’ window under ‘Cell’,  but this is not the one that you are going to change the color. Instead choose ‘Table’ which is next to ‘Cell’ on the top left. See below picture for ‘Table’ window.

Click on ‘Background Color’, you are able to choose the background color for the table. After you are done, click on ‘Apply’ and after that ‘Close ‘the window. Now try on the other table using the same steps above.

Next we will focus the headline so that it will grab the attention of your traffic. Highlight the headline, and choose ‘Heading 1′. See picture below.

After that, your headline will have been enlarge to a specify size, if you find that you need to change the front size of the headline. Highlight the headline and choose the front size to your preferences. You may want to centralize the headline as well. Highlight headline and choose the ‘Align Center’.

As you can see that the Kompozer is like using Mircosoft Word, you are able to be what Mircosoft Word can do in Kompozer. Please explore on your own as this is quite a easy part. Next we will be touching on the auto-responder form.

We will change the label name from ‘Your Name’ and ‘Your E-Mail’ to ‘First Name’ and ‘Primary E-Mail’. Go to the ‘Source’ of the squeeze page, and find the above two label name. See picture below. Remember to save after you are done.

Next we will change the submit button to a different call to action words. On the same ‘Source’ page of the squeeze page, find “Get More Info!”. Then change it to your prefer call to action. See picture below. Remember to save after you are done.

Next is to widen the length of the form box. In the same ‘Source’ look for ’size=”14″ ‘, this is where you need to change to your preference size. You will to adjust a couple of times. See picture below. Remember to save after you are done.

Next is to add in the image of the report or bonus you are giving away. Click ‘Insert’ and click ‘Image…’, where you select the picture file and load it in the squeeze page.  See picture below.

Under the ‘Image Location’, you are to choose the image file from your computer. Next is to enter ‘Alternate text’, this is in case your image does not load on your screen, text will appear instead. Use relevant text for you free report or free ebook. After that you are done and remember to click ‘OK’.

That will be all for the squeeze page creation. What you need to do is to continue to explore the functions of Kompozer, do not be afraid of doing the wrong things. Keep on practicing and you will be getting a hang of it soon. See you tomorrow.
